LED Wristbands - A Concept Brought to Life

 

BRIEF

The client requested the development of LED bands that would rhythmically flash to two songs at an upcoming Coldplay concert. The device would be given to each member of the audience, and as the concert played, the flashing of the wristbands was synchronized to the music.

DESIGN

The interactive LED wristband contain light-emitting diodes which produce the effect of moving, multicoloured lights. Each board was programmed with timer software that would begin at a precise time, starting in accordance with the music & lighting set and flash in a complementing pattern with each song.

RESULTS

The client received praise and recognition around the world from audiences and the music and entertainment industry, with Coldplay’s Chris Martin describing them as ‘beautiful’. Future iterations of the concept included RF receivers so they could be reused and controlled remotely for more synergy with the concert timing.
